Please urge President Trump to POCKET VETO the Trojan Horse P.A.C.T. Act (HR 724/S 479) heading to his desk for signature.
Animal abuse and torture should never be condoned, but it’s ALREADY illegal in all 50 states with laws on the books to enforce.
The P.A.C.T. Act sets the stage to criminalize anyone who raises, breeds, and works with animals and sets a precent for abuse under interpretation of its vague definitions.
Within its vague definitions, this short piece of legislation, put forth by radical animal rights groups, is wide open to interpretation by the bureaucrat regulators tasked with enforcing it. Terminology that could criminalize a rancher for implementing regular animal husbandry practices such as branding his cattle (burning), ear-tagging his livestock or even giving shots (impaling). The same applies to anyone who raises, breeds, or works with animals!
At a time in our country when law enforcement and animal control officers are naively accepting third-party enforcement training by radical animal rights groups, the P.A.C.T. Act will be ripe for abuse!
When animal cruelty and torture is ALREADY ILLEGAL, you have to question what the animal rights organizations’ true intentions are behind this legislation as it sets a dangerous precedent for all Americans.
